ABOUT
Ellen Gustavsson is a Swedish filmmaker and visual storyteller with a background in performance arts, drawn to emotionally resonant and visually driven narratives. Her practice moves between documentary and cinematic portraiture, exploring intimacy, identity and human connection through atmosphere, rhythm and a poetic approach to reality. Her debut short documentary BICH’EBI [boys], co-directed with Nathalié Williamsdotter, had its world premiere at the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival in 2026. The film has also been presented in several international industry and market contexts, including Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, Cannes Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry and IDFA Docs for Sale. Ellen graduated from Hyper Island’s Digital Media Creative program in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Film at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg, while developing new film projects.
